Just another WordPress.com site. The Ghost Dogs of Hyde. The Ghost Dogs of Hyde. Have a nose for all things. You can smell their breath. On the panting night air,. Detect the rub of spectral fur. Against your hand in the dark,. The slobber of long tongues. At the back of your knee. Their eyes come in two colours:. Black and blacker;. Their heads in two sizes:. But soft as fog. They turn on nothing. But a sixpence,. Take the corner at a lurch,. Search for one another. By the wheelie bins. Now they are str...

Crossing the Divide | Lindley's Blog

Just another WordPress.com site. American artist Daniel Bonnell talks about Crossing the Divide. Though we do not agree with the same theology within every poem, there is plenty of room for a meaningful collaboration. We are divided by an ocean and faith but that makes Crossing the Divide more mysteriously beautiful. I am honoured to work with such an important artist. The end result of this project will be a collection of 52 poems and paintings which will become a book published in the near future.

Just another WordPress.com site. In Search of Randolph ‘Randini’ Douglas. Is a strikingly different performance from prizewinning poet, John Lindley, taking as its theme the astonishing true life story of a Sheffield-born man named Randolph Douglas (1895 1956). Collector, caver and curator, locksmith, miniaturist and escapologist, confidant to, and correspondent with, the great Harry Houdini. Randolph Douglas seems, inexplicably, to be almost forgotten today. The Death of Houdini. Is not just a fine poem...

A site for poems. Simon Weller →. April 3, 2015. The last days of petrol. The ebb of a country lane and meadowsweet;. Or those hot verges seen from a corner. For a second brown itching with seed; and. The stop by an unfamiliar signpost;. The humpback bridge over a chubb stream. Taken fast so the belly flops;. Driving up above mills getting away. From work with a teak chest. Wedged in the back of a hire car. Until the Cauldshiels car park. Reverse in and out again and back. Across the downs to keep. I lik...
