This was in my backyard in Brandon, Florida in 2004. I thought they turned out pretty good. It has a river boat ride up the Homasassa river and offers a lot of photo opportunities. There is a spring there where you can see manatees and they feed them. One of our stops was Antelope Island which is in the Great Salt Lake. The island has bison, antelope, coyotes and other wildlife on it. My office window opens onto a flowering lilac tree that is visited by butterflies, hummingbirds, other birds and several really neat insects. A lilac bush grew outside my window when I was a girl. I loved the smell and colours then and I love them still. Pale Swallowtail feeding on lilac nectar. Western Tiger Swallowtail wing in the sun. Western Tiger Swallowtail on lilac flowers. Rufous Hummingbird Female finding pollen.

On its own – Dipper fledgling. Spring leaves us so quickly! The cherry trees are growing little green cherries already and the lilacs have finished their glorious flowering. And babies!
