aubrey levinthal painting blog: September 2014

Friday, September 26, 2014. Sunday Pick: Liliane Klapisch. Posted by Aubrey Levinthal. I am enjoying the work of Liliane Klapisch. A painter born in France in 1933 who now lives and works in Jerusalem, Israel. Her roots in french painting (thinking Vuillard and friends) are present but there is an emptying out and simplification that reminds me of a modernist I love: Biala. Post a comment (0). Robert McCall: Street ART - Rio de Janeiro

You provide the byline. Friday, March 18, 2011. Street ART - Rio de Janeiro. There's some wonderful street art in Rio de Janeiro. It's around every corner, hiding behind doors, down lanes, on steps, in parks.it is literally everywhere. For me it's the perfect environment to find inspiration. Street art thrives through belief. A belief in art, and the power of art to deliver a message of hope and conscience. In part it is evidence of a city that exudes confidence. Posted by Robert McCall. When i was about...

You provide the byline. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. A Walking Work of Art. I had the pleasure of meeting Raimundo Rodriguez yesterday. I liked him. He was intense, cool, passionate, complex, warm and INSPIRING! A walking 'obra de arte'. I can't possibly do this man justice in words but I'll try to paint the picture for you. I was visiting his new gallery - Caza Arte Contemporanea. I'd been there before and thought I'd pop-in and say hello again. It just so happened he was there. And other links a television...

Carol's Art Blog. Back to the drawing board. About . . . En Plein Air Possibilities. En Plein Air Possibilities. A work in progress, I want this page to include my supply list and my favorite spots to paint. Things to remember – trash bag, insect spray, wide-brimmed hat (no more visor since my Mom’s experience – visor golf = skin cancer), swiss army knife. For more than a day – small pliers, hammer, large garbage bags. National Parks – Concord, MA. Walden Pond, beautiful, saw a hummingbird there in May.
