Jack Kelley, highly successful coach at Boston University, joins the New England franchise as coach and general manager. Newly formed team is named "WHALERS" becasue it contains the letters of the new league, and it carries with it a part of the New England heritage. April 19, 1972. October 12, 1972. January 11, 1975. May 23, 1977. January 18, 1978. Along with...
The Blowhole - Hartford / New England Whalers Jersey History
http://www.hartfordwhalers.org/uniform.htm
During their existance the Hartford Whalers changed the look of their jersey a number of times. The more "environmentally-aware" society of the late 1970's saw the end of the harpoon. The introduction of the full length "Cooperalls" was met with bad reviews in the early 80's. Pucky the Whale patches even fell off the shoulders by the mid-1980's. In the New England Whalers' inaugural season while in Boston, the team established the green and white colour scheme that they would wear for over twenty years.

Sweet China Ruby: December 2004
http://chinaruby.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 30, 2004. So, the big Ohio recap I've been meaning to write for a while. This should be at least a day or two of the trip, and then I'm going to bed, because I woke up like this today:. Mom: "Hey Mr. EMT, what are the symptoms for a heart attack? Cause I think I"m having one.". Max: [sits upright] "I'm awake.". Dad and I got on the line, and I felt in my pocket, to get my ID ready to present to the people who would eventually check me in. Uh oh. Oh shit." my father replied. Remarkable ...

Hartford Whalers -- Did You Say "Over?" Nothing Is Over Until We Decide It Is!

This, is my "boone" stick! It's been 13 days since i last blogged. Happily, the yankees did beat the red sox, thanks to aaron boone and his dramatic home run. of course, the yankees then turned around decided to completely suck against the marlins. oh well, at least the red sox still haven't won. I got to barcelona completely unprepared for the next six days. The stories of what happened are not blog material. i couldn't possibly do them justice here, but i will say that i have not had more fun than ...

HOF is a Joke. The baseball Hall of Fame is a joke. It's absolutely ridiculous that guys like Bert Blyleven get elected, and someone like Albert Belle isn't even on the ballot anymore. I mean, Bert Blyleven? Or, how about when you'd buy/find/be given some old cards from the 60's or so. And you'd ask your dad, "hey, how was 'this guy'? And your dad would say something like, "He was really good." But you knew that he wasn't a HOFer. Fucking nobody. That's who. And what about guys like Gary Sheffield? Prett...

Sometimes people just suck. Let's see. 27-17=10. Ten as in "days since i last wrote anything." as in "jon is a lazy fucking motherfucker.". Ok, not entirely. i got a new computer on tuesday, courtesy of my friend marcello. ultimately, i waited about three months for the computer, so as you can imagine, when it arrived, i pretty much tore into the box so i could open it up and start playing. Speaking of insanity, what the hell is wrong with the yankees? Anyway, back to non-baseball matters. I can now burn...

Tonight I was watching the HBO special, "24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic" with a friend of mine, and it was awesome. I mean really awesome. The best part is the Winter Classic itself. Not only do you get to hear the players say "fuck" about 900 times, but you really get a feel for what goes on during the games. The trash talking is on a whole new level. Even the referees talk shit. It's fucking amazing. You get it all. And it's fantastic. So why not, NHL? Posted by: jg / 3:31 AM.

Time for Change in the NHL and NBA. Recently, Buffalo Sabres fans in attendance for "Tank Night" were cheering openly for their team to lose to the visiting Arizona Coyotes. When the Sabres tied the game near the end of the third period, the goal announcement drew boos from the home crowd, as did the horn signaling the end of regulation (presumably because the Sabres earned one point by sending the game to overtime). The fans are not entirely to blame, however. It's the leagues themselves that put ma...
