Pass the Ketchup, Please. Friday, May 13, 2011. Different Styles of Cooking. I couldn't pass up a chance to cook at home, though. I don't get to do much on my own when we are so busy. Often we do frozen food or quick pizzas.but those dinners are busy prep time and little cooking time, so there isn't much relaxing on those nights. Tonight I decided to Southern bake some fried chicken! My newest and currently favorite cookbook is the. Posted by Maureen Lewis. Sunday, May 1, 2011. Nice table, Arnie! After s...

Pass the Ketchup, Please. Monday, January 16, 2012. After an usually dry and mild December, the Northwest was ready for some snow. We've had about 4 inches in the last two days. It is the best kind of snow - packable for snowballs and snow people, and slightly icy for sledding! We found a small hill to sled down in the woods. Our great neighbors invited us to sled down the drive way in their backyard. Steep and fun. If you are afraid you might go over the cliff at the bottom, you can bail into the snow!

Early Saturday morning, I took a book and coffee from the local coffee shop, and sat at the laundromat and loved it. Walking distance to the laundromat. Arnie bought a new dryer that Monday. Just a fleeting laundromat experience. Posted by Maureen Lewis. We did have healthy fruit in the afternoons. The granola had juicy dried blueberries in it. Healthy and bpa-free juice. My friend, Kristin, and I ea...

He smoked a whole chicken over the top of a can full of beer. The chicken was very moist and succulent, but really did not taste like beer.we need to research this process a little more. It was a great experiment, though. This was the first time he smoked a whole chicken. It took three hours! Well worth the wait. Posted by Maureen Lewis. On Saturday, Kati...

Pass the Ketchup, Please. Saturday, October 6, 2012. The Bounty of the Summer Brings Comfort. I definitely felt comfort planting the garden in April and May. The bounty of the garden has reminded me of the magic of God's earth. Sometimes when I harvest, I thank God not only for the beautiful vegetables, but for loving Grandpa and holding him close. Many of the posts from here on will be retro posts - things I wanted to blog about, but couldn't find the motivation to complete! Posted by Maureen Lewis.

Pass the Ketchup, Please. Friday, April 29, 2011. A Sleepover for the 10 year olds. Katie had a sleepover to celebrate her birthday. For this party, we made pizza! With a sinking feeling, I went in the house. Flipped on the light, but, of course, it didn't come on. Groan. Why is the power out on a sunny day? I sent the girls to the neighbors to see if they knew anything and started to panic. How would I make the pizza? Thankfully, about 15 minutes after the girls got here, the power came back on. I c...
