Sorry. A Brief History of Haydon Bridge. The current village of Haydon Bridge is located on both sides of the River South Tyne. The North section is further split by the old A69 highway and the Newcastle to Carlisle railway. The name Haydon Bridge could be derived directly as meaning the Valley where Hay is made.
