Hiking the Hayduke Trail 2015. About the Hayduke Trail. Bonus: days 63 and 64. Though not technically part of the Hayduke Trail, these two days were extensions of my adventure. I include them because they are like capstones. I bummed a campsite easily and hung out with my host, a full-time trailer-living nomad. We chatted as the campground hummed around us. I went to bed early. How am I going to swim this with my heavy pack? And then hitched immediately to St George (got a ride in a few minutes with an I...

I want to offer this page as help for people thinking about a PNT hike, one more informational drop in a bucket of thoughts on the trail. First, why the PNT? Of all the challenges), the PNT is definitely worth hiking! There are a few things in particular that deserve mention. The traffic on roadwalks is a concern, especially on t...

Rolling with the moment. Living simply, on bikes. Our photos on Flickr. Southern Arizona, the forgotten child. March 1, 2014. On January 27th, close to 3 weeks after arriving in Terlingua, Texas the forecast was looking dim … cold and windy which was an unusual event coming from the land of eternal good weather. We took that as our exit sign, packed up and headed down the road to Southern Arizona in search of sunshine and warmth…. just like lizards. Fields of tall, golden grasses. While in the Sonoran de...
