http://clairepettigrewaeuropa.blogspot.com/2012/07/live-below-line-explanation.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. Live Below the Line - an explanation. You may have noticed I've been spamming everyone with messages about Live Below the Line. If you haven't. Actually bothered to read any of them. Worked out what this is, I have signed up to live on €1.40 per day for five days. This has contributed to me feeling like I've lost a lot of my identity by coming over here, something that really surprized me and has been one of the hardest things I've dealt with so far. So, when I saw this video.

Sunday, July 15, 2012. June in Amsterdam - Bidding Adieu Part I. Vemen moving cheese in Alkmaar. Tiny shops in Alkmaar. Sawmill in Zaansee Schans. Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam. Despite the crowds, I think this was my favourite tourist experience in the Netherlands, it was really amazing. Cube Houses in Rotterdam. There is something about ferry boats that fills me with a small child's excitement, they never get old! More photos of Alkmaar, Zaanse Schans, Rotterdam and Kinderdijk are here. Want to Nanny or ...

¡A Europa!: Tavira, Portugal - Sun, Surf, Sand and a short trip to Spain
http://clairepettigrewaeuropa.blogspot.com/2012/07/tavira-portugal-sun-surf-sand-and-short.html
Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Tavira, Portugal - Sun, Surf, Sand and a short trip to Spain. Boats at the waterfront in Cabanas. Hauke and I took the train from Faro. To Tavira, 30km east, around midday. It only cost a couple of euros, so I was expecting the same level of service as I experienced in Sicily. But apart from the trains being several decades older than the majority of others in western europe it was great, having an actual timetable and sticking to it! Tapas on our balcony in Tavira. For dinner we ...

¡A Europa!: January 2012
http://clairepettigrewaeuropa.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 17, 2012. January in Luxembourg Part I. So, after a pretty uneventful New Years, January is turning out to be a little crazy as I try to jam in as many things on my 'To-do-before-leaving-lux' list as possible. Ceiling inside Vianden Castle. I had been to Vianden in September,. But we didn't really stick around for long. It has the most beautiful and biggest castle in Luxembourg, home of the Counts of Vianden, whose descendents. Driving down to La Bresse skifield in France. The biggest sk...

¡A Europa!: My first foray East - Warsaw, Poland
http://clairepettigrewaeuropa.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-first-foray-east-warsaw-poland.html
Monday, July 9, 2012. My first foray East - Warsaw, Poland. Marker showing the placement of the former Jewish Ghetto Wall. I've always though Eastern Europe was more interesting than the West, but seeing as I prefer crashing with friends over forking out for accomodation, I hadn't yet ventured further east than Berlin. But Doug, a NZer AFS returnee friend headed to Warsaw for a semestre-long university exchange, and I booked tickets to go over and see him for a weekend around May 10th. Everyone was loud ...

Thursday, December 22, 2011. Reflections One Year In. Me looking at the view of Liege, Belgium. One year since I arrived in Europe. Me with two kiwi friends in London. During the second half of this year, I spent a few weeks hanging out in an empty house in Germany and exploring the surrounding countryside. Headed down to Sicily for a week. And then settled down here in Luxembourg. The beginning was tough. Me on the ski lift at Rauris, Austria. Ollie and I in his first snow in Luxembourg. The moments whe...
