Travel to the other side of the World. Te Anau Mountains and Glow Worns. October 30, 2013. Getting more used to unusual names such as Te Anau which was a good jumping off point for more mountains and a cruise in Millford Sound but before that I went down into a cave at night to see some glow worms. It doesn’t even sound that interesting but I found it quite terrifying! To get to the Caves we cruised across a lake and picked our way to the cave entrance over a watery area. Travel to the other side of the World. November 1, 2013. As you know glaciers are getting smaller! We had quite a walk to get to see the end of Fox glacier but weren’t’ allowed to get close because of the instability of the surrounding area. It was huge. Some had a helicopter ride (for a mere 150) landing on top and walking about on it. We stayed in a rough kind of hotel where shower did n’t work but the food was good. Took a tunnel through a mountain to get to Millford Sound and then back through same tunnel to get to Queenstown It is in a lovely setting and is the site for some extreme activities such as bungy jumping. I have kept the ad Song book as a momento and think some of could have a go at a sing song. Why not! Te Anau Mountains and Glow Worns.

The scenery was the ocean and the snow capped mountains and this continued for miles. We also went through Marlborough Country famous for its food and wine and saw huge areas covered by vines. Travel to the other side of the World. November 5, 2013. This city is at the bottom of North Island and so is beside the sea. We had a City tour to see the general layout. There were many runners on the path by the sea and many big houses at the top of the area above the path. Some of them had private cable cars to give them access to their houses from below! We then went to the large Te Papa Museum where we were shown around with many interesting stories from a rather ‘camp’ guide. View all 3 comments.
