Friday, 4 September 2009. I recently picked up a copy of "Delia's Frugal Food" from the local library. I'm always interested in ideas for creating cheap, nutritious meals and I enjoyed flicking through it and pulling out a few recipes, although a lot of the book did not conform to my tastes and Australian ingredients (oh yeah, I moved back to Australia btw). Anyhoo, I tried the "Potato Soup with Bacon" on page 25 of the book, leaving out the turnip, and it turned out pretty nice! Very cheap and cheerful.
