Try this time saving microwave technique: Place the fresh corn in the microwave and cook on high power for 5 minutes. Then turn the corn so the top is on the bottom, the left is facing the right. Add a large spoonful of peanut, soybean or canola oil to a heavy iron pot then a cup of uncooked rice. Heat it to high and stir it constantly until the rice kernels begin to open.
