Masala Chicken, Green Beans and Lentils | The Healthy Hipster
https://healthyhipster.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/masala-chicken-green-beans-and-lentils
WHAT’S WITH THE NAME? Too much pabst makes you feel like crapst. Masala Chicken, Green Beans and Lentils. When it comes to weeknight cooking, I tend to have one of two very different approaches: maximum efficiency or maximum effort. On a maximum efficiency day, I eat out of a giant. This evening I tried my hand at some kind of middle ground, and the results were fairly tasty. Masala Chicken, Green Beans and Lentils. 2 large chicken breasts. 15-2 tbsp garam masala. 1 lb bag of green beans. March 26, 2015.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME? Too much pabst makes you feel like crapst. I’ve never been one for Valentine’s Day. No matter what your feelings are about the love-centric aspects of Valentine’s Day, I think we can all agree that a day celebrating chocolate in the middle of February is a universal good. So with that, here’s a recipe for some. And it’s kinda healthy, but not too healthy. 2 tbsp melted coconut oil. 2 tbsp almond butter. 1 heaping tbsp honey. 3 tbsp good quality cocoa powder. The Weekend Cookie | The Healthy Hipster

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME? Too much pabst makes you feel like crapst. A while back I posted a recipe for what I boastfully called “ The Ultimate Cookie. 8221; that’s been one of the most popular recipes on this blog. It was my own take on Bunners’. A gluten-free vegan bakery based in toronto) gypsy cookie. And I must say that even after all this time, this recipe keeps me coming back. But there’s a new cookie in town. All I can say is “Holy Cowgirl.”. 150 grams ripe banana (about 1.5 bananas). 1 Preheat oven ...
RECIPE: 4 Ingredient Fermented Coleslaw | The Healthy Hipster
https://healthyhipster.wordpress.com/2014/07/31/recipe-4-ingredient-fermented-coleslaw
WHAT’S WITH THE NAME? Too much pabst makes you feel like crapst. RECIPE: 4 Ingredient Fermented Coleslaw. Don’t ask me to explain it, but hipsters. Beer is a given. But also tea (kombucha). Soy (tempeh). Milk (kefir). And now…vegetables. Yes, the rise in “craft” vegetable production can be seen across the urban landscape – from every food truck serving up kimchi tacos to every hippie grocery store hocking $10 juniper-scented saurkraut. RECIPE: 4 Ingredient Fermented Coleslaw. 1 large head of green cabbage.

TO Chow Down: Back with: Tasting the Danforth
http://tochowdown.blogspot.com/2012/09/back-with-tasting-danforth.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Back with: Tasting the Danforth. Ok so my month layoff was successful. I was trying to save money and eat in but there is just too much good food out there. I wrote this a couple of weeks ago because I knew I would want to post it at some point. One of the greatest thing about living in Toronto is that I am close to and even within walking distance from so many great events. The closest to my house is always Taste of the Danforth. Sea Salt Baked Potatoes Recipe - 101 Cookbooks

Cooking with Natural Foods. Favorite Fats and Oils. Sea Salt Baked Potatoes Recipe. May 19, 2011. 124; 140 Comments. Grabbed some arugula, and was pretty confident I had everything else I'd need at home. On the road trip front, a number of you have asked, somewhat incredulously, why we would drive to Marfa, Texas. To which I sort of tilt my head, and start thinking more about it. There seems to be a long answer and a short answer. The short? We went to see visit this. More Side Dish Recipes. I found some...
TO Chow Down: A Burger with a View
http://tochowdown.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-burger-with-view.html
Monday, October 15, 2012. A Burger with a View. This Burger has the best view in Canada anyway. Up the CN Tower you would assume that the food in the restaurants is expensive and poor quality. You would be right on one of the 2 assumptions. It is fairly expensive but the quality is great. This was my first trip up the tower even though I have lived in Toronto my whole life. It was a great experience and I would suggest that anyone who goes up get a virtual handheld guide. It is well worth it.
TO Chow Down: September 2011

Monday, September 12, 2011. Taste of the Danforth and The Ex Festival Edition. It has been a while. I thought I would bring out some good eats from the summer festivities that go on around the city. 1st up Taste of the Danforth. I live right near the Danforth so I had to hit it up for some food. 1st of all I would like to say that if you do not like crowds then this is not the place for you. But if you are ok with them then just right in and it is a great people watching place. Corn is essential on Taste...

Beware of Young Girls: A Tribute to Teenage Tavi |
https://ironingboardcollective.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/beware-of-young-girls-a-tribute-to-teenage-tavi
Beware of Young Girls: A Tribute to Teenage Tavi. June 15, 2012. When I first started reading The Style Rookie. Tavi Gevinson was a precocious 12-year-old who compiled exceptional mood boards and collages. Since then she has developed into an eccentric and influential fashion icon, as well as an outspoken feminist. My heart was warmed when Tavi went to high school, discovered riot grrrl, and started espousing the merits of fourth-wave feminism. How Riot Grrrl Can Change Your Life. She recently turned 16 ...

Thursday, April 26, 2012. TFC Takes the. Upgraded Chip Butty? Have you ever gone to a sporting event and said, "I have a great idea for some food that should be sold here for me to consume right now"? Well I have. MLSE (Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment) has been fairly slow at adding and changing around food in their venues. I mean sure they have some interesting stuff in the ACC for Leafs and Raptors games but how long did that take to come about. Taco Stand- Did not have this but looked pretty good.
TO Chow Down: Dog Carts
http://tochowdown.blogspot.com/2012/10/dog-carts.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Hot Dog carts. They are everywhere in Toronto. I think most of my street meat has been eaten in or around the Sky Dome (Yea I still call it the Dome) before or after sporting events. If you are looking for it you can find him on the north side of the Dome on Front street on the South side just West of the steps up. Enough description for you? If you are in the market for some street meat and are in the area for an event, I suggest using this guy. A Burger with a View.
TO Chow Down: December 2011

Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Hair of the Dog. Got some great food at an old place with a new menu and beer list. You have to check it out. Hair of the Dog is on Church street just north of Carlton and has a rooftop patio in the summer as well as around the side. It has been newly painted inside and has some great features upstairs and down. Now to the drinks. Their whole beer list has been overhauled and has some of the best choices for a bar with few taps in the city. I would suggest trying them all.

TO Chow Down: The Beaver is a Magestic and Noble Creature
http://tochowdown.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-beaver-is-magestic-and-noble.html
Monday, September 24, 2012. The Beaver is a Magestic and Noble Creature. Quick dinner on Friday night was at a place called "The Beaver" on Queen St West out near Gladstone. It doesn't really have a sign so you have to look out for it. A quiet and unassuming place, it has some great beers on tap as well as reportedly one of the best pulled pork sandwiches in the city. So I had it. If you are in the 'hood check it out! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Beaver is a Magestic and Noble Creature.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME? It’s hard to keep your wits about you this time of year. The sun sets at what feels like 3pm. The wind chills. Sickness pervades. The stretch between now and December holidays feels longer than the rest of the year combined. Anyhow here’s a recipe I’ve been making and enjoying a lot lately. Simple, tasty and perfect for November mornings. Inspired by the Minimalist Baker. 3 cups rolled oats. 1 cup crushed almonds. 3 Tbsp coconut sugar. Tsp of sea salt. 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice. And n...
