筑波山観光農園は、筑波山 877m の中腹 海抜約200m地点 に位置し、300坪のハウスでは高糖度トマトの栽培をしております。 晴れた日には関東平野が一望でき、東京の高層ビル群や今話題の東京スカイツリー 634m をはじめ、朝夕には富士山 3,776m まで、素晴らしい眺めを堪能できます。

筑波山観光農園は、茨城県の象徴ともいえる筑波山の雄大な自然を満喫しながら、 最先端の農業 を見て感じて体験する という全く新しい構想の下につくられた農業体験施設です。 筑波山中腹 標高約200m付近 に総面積14,850m²もの広大な土地に造られた筑波山観光農園内には、300坪のビニールハウスがあり、その中では高糖度フルーツトマトの栽培を行っております。 現在は 高糖度フルーツトマト を主に栽培しておりますが、今後様々な野菜や果物を栽培 販売していく予定です。 また、園内には 茶室 や 庭園 等、日本の伝統文化に触れられる施設をはじめ、様々な植物が観賞できる 薬草木園 や、天気の良い日には駐車場からも東京スカイツリーや富士山まで見渡す事が出来ます。 何故にエゴマを栽培しようかと考えたのは、人間が生きていく上で不可欠な油の一つ アルファ リノレン酸 がエゴマには含まれており、その可能性に心惹かれたからです。
