Hear and Now is a digitally recorded weekly talking newspaper presenting stories, features and information from our local newspapers The Dawlish Gazette and Teignmouth News and from other local sources. It is made available to listeners on a reusable USB memory stick which is delivered free of charge to. Our listeners by first class post, sent out on the day of production usually a Friday. Strand Hall, Dawlish, Devon. USB player for Hear and Now Talking Newspaper.

Speakers & Visitors. Val Forrester talking to Hear and Now volunteers. Hear and Now currently has over 40 volunteers involved in the production of the weekly recorded newspaper. They come from all walks of life and give their time freely to the organisation. Volunteers work in teams with their own editor, team leader, producer and readers. At least two members of the team are responsible for the copying and dispatch of the recorded memory sticks which go to our listeners. Registered Charity Number 1163443.

Artefacts and buildings have been preserved, with one remarkable exception - The Royal Western Counties Hospital. In 1986, this huge expanse of dressed limestone was demolished. Every piece of stone was shipped upcountry. Not a trace remained. Crescent, but for some who bought the houses, explanation for these apparently random names was needed.
