Seth and Elizabeth's YASC Mission: September 2008
http://sethandelizabethtaiwan.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. English Bible Study. Let's just say I was skeptical. Skeptical because I am not sure I'm qualified to lead a Bible study, and skeptical because, well, it just didn't sound appealing. That is, until last night. Last night was the official kick-off of the English Bible Study at the newest Episcopal Campus Ministry, the combined Episcopal/Anglican College Fellowship (Taipei). If you are interested in ordering or using any of these studies. Remember, Jesus had already forgiven ...

Seth and Elizabeth's YASC Mission: October 2008
http://sethandelizabethtaiwan.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 22, 2008. First off, let me be forthright in saying this has been a very challenging and frustrating week for both of us. We have had a fair amount of trouble with communication and matching expectations between the Diocese of Taiwan and our own understanding of our work here. So, with this in mind, I would like to talk a little bit about dreams and the possibility of finding pinpoints of light in difficult situations. And Sewanee (The University of the South). Now, I'm not ready to co...

Seth and Elizabeth's YASC Mission: On the Bus
http://sethandelizabethtaiwan.blogspot.com/2008/12/on-bus.html
Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Car, or bus, or train, or subway. . . This week I have been thinking about convenience. This thought is closely tied to transportation. I'll get there soon. . . Convenience is usually how the value of things are gauged. Consider these (not-so) hypothetical scenarios:. 1: I am talking to a student at NTU who is from Kaohsiung (southern Taiwan). Me: Do you like living in Taipei? Student: I guess so. It's very convenient. Perhaps convenience is so highly valued by college studen...

Plan B | Jim and Mary Higbee's Blog
https://mhigbee.wordpress.com/2014/06/13/plan-b
Jim and Mary Higbee's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Margaret, Philomena, and Carol, teachers at the workshop. The third teacher workshop required Sue and I to work far out of our comfort zone, which resulted in a rich experience and one that we are pleased to have had. Prior to leaving for this trip, I wrote in a post that God is in the surprises, and how true that has been for us while in the Anglican Diocese of Kajiado. Teachers working together on note taking for non fiction text. As I read...

Spirit Light My Fire in Colombia: what a great weekend
http://spiritlightmyfirecolombia.blogspot.com/2009/12/what-great-weekend.html
Links to my photos. Tuesday, December 1, 2009. What a great weekend. The story of Sandra’s family. 7 siblings ages 9 – 25. Father died a year ago from a heart attack while up in the mountains. The father was a control freak and very closed minded to the point where he didn’t allow the children to go to school for many years, he only wanted them to say in the house! Seth and Elizabeth's YASC Mission: July 2008
http://sethandelizabethtaiwan.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 27, 2008. Who says college kids won't get up early? The pictures you see here are from the real reason to get up at 7am. . . Toast! After we worship, we all head into the parish hall for toast and coffee or tea. Girdo, seen top right with Elizabeth, is the toastmaster. He is responsible for the setup of the toasters and the meticulous allotment of 4 pieces of toast and bagels for each person in attendance. No more, no less. Monday, July 21, 2008. Thank you to all of our partners in mission!
