Something Like a Heart: The Mental Heart #4
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2008/11/mental-heart-4.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Thursday, November 27, 2008. The Mental Heart #4. Long time, no see, eh? Things have been a bit hectic around here lately, but I've finally managed to come up with the time to write a new Mental Heart post. Enjoy! First off, we have an item that seems to me like it should be a complete no-brainer: apparently when a person suffers cardiac arrest, gasping shouldn't be interpreted as breathing. As a woman and as a feminist, I dislike the fact th...

Something Like a Heart: Heart of the Heart
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2010/03/heart-of-heart.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Thursday, March 4, 2010. Heart of the Heart. That might be overly simplistic, but I do sometimes think that when ridiculously petty arguments come up in the heartbeat community, everyone involved should just take a deep breath, calm down and literally listen to each other's hearts. It may be rather naïve of me to say this, but perhaps the reminder that we're all human—I think! Hey, why not? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Reflection: Hear...

Something Like a Heart: Playing With Our Hearts: Introduction
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2008/12/playing-with-our-hearts-introduction.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Playing With Our Hearts: Introduction. Each post in this mini-series tackles a single method of heartbeat experimentation: breath holds, exercises and other physical activity, legal drugs, illegal drugs and "pushes" (a slang term for the Valsalva manoeuvre). While I'm hardly claiming that this is the definitive guide—I MUST. Stress that I am not a doctor, nurse, EMT or any other kind of health care professional.

Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. As you can probably see from yesterday's huge influx of posts from yours truly, the Heart Beat Pleasure site is back up and running—including the blogs. I've left out a couple of posts from my original blog because they're really not much more than a list of the first few links I added there; see the original blog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Something Like a Heart: A Changing Interest
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2009/03/changing-interest.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. When I think about my interest in heartbeats these days, one of the first things that comes to mind is a question—"why? It isn't enough to say that I like the sound of a heart beating; in some ways, "why? Is the eternal question. No matter what your answer is, there can always be another "why? To follow it up. It's like that infernal " song that never ends. You can always ask "why? Just one more time. For all that I w...

Something Like a Heart: Couldn't find it with a map?
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2009/06/couldnt-find-it-with-map.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Couldn't find it with a map? I'm sure we all know people who probably couldn't find their backsides. With both hands and a map, but what about their hearts? A CNN article that another member of Heartbeat Pleasure linked to in the forum there the other day indicates that of 722 Britons surveyed, most had no idea where several important organs were located, or even what they looked like. Something Like a Heart: When the hearts of the dead are not silent...
http://somethinglikeaheart.blogspot.com/2013/04/when-hearts-of-dead-are-not-silent.html
Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. When the hearts of the dead are not silent. But then I realized: eventually, all our hearts will stop. Yours, mine— everyone's. Or, in the case of people who have died and left heartbeat recordings behind for others to hear, it says, "I lived! And that, I believe, is not at all a bad thing. Something Like a Heart. The Musings of a Heartbeat Enthusiast. Monday, October 27, 2008. Thursday, September 25, 2008. Acknowledging My Heartbeat Interest. It took me nearly fifteen years, but I finally did it. When I was writing in my personal journal the other day, I finally admitted that I had an interest in the human heart. Incidentally, I found out that morning that writing "thump-thump" 100 times in a row is a very. Suit yourself. Remember, I was. Well, not so far, anyway. That has a power of its o...
