The War March 23, 2015. 8212; jadabroussard55 @ 8:18 pm. I’ve been loved and I’ve been lonely. I have support sometimes, but mostly it’s just me only. I’ve learned how to stand on my own two feet. I’ve learned how to survive no matter how bad I am beat. I know how to pick up the pieces that break. I’ve found courage for my own sake. I know how to fight and be strong. Even when I do not belong. I know how to move forward. How to keep my wits when things are awkward. I have become a very skilled fighter.

But what I feel is for real. An intensity that continually grows. A chilling wind that constantly blows. Fear so strong it can become crippling. Sending shock waves through you like water rippling. The one with tears in her eyes. The one who has told me all the lies. I watch her struggle with what is real. I watch her struggle with the emotions she feels. I reach out to her showing her she’s not alone. I hold her hand as she sobs and moans. Her greatest wish will never come true. She will never get the chance to know you.

The Life and Times of This OilField Wife. Title says it all…. I Am an Oilfield Wife. I am an oilfield wife and a mother. I spend most nights in my bed with my dog instead of my husband. I have gone to school with my children as their dad for Donuts with Dad days when they were younger. I have played the part of both mother and father to the best of my ability for most of the past twelve years. I have searched for, and found, houses and duplexes for us to live in from sometimes as much as six hours away.

Back in June, I signed up for a challenge known as Camp NaNoWriMo. I challenged myself to write 50,000 words in 31 days. Because of things coming up unexpectedly, I had to drop my word count goal down to 30,000 and I barely made it. Final count July 31 right before midnight was 30,146 words. Whew! So I had a lot of up and down time.
