Hearth and Hedge: July 2016
http://hearthandhedge.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2016. The Trouble With Life Expectancy. Ironically, this person was only 30, so.) I find this a very, very bizarre statement all around, but mostly because. well, it's not like people in Ancient Greece were all just falling over dead at the age of 35. Monday, July 25, 2016. UPG relating to Hekate. So, considering my recent post on the whole UPG. For symbols I tend to look to her historical ones, but there is also the crescent moon with it's 'horns' pointing downward. I associate t...
Hearth and Hedge: May 2016
http://hearthandhedge.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 25, 2016. On a side note to my last post, having been following the Greek festival calendar these last few months, which again, runs on lunar based months. So, while this current moon cycle is the blue moon (running with the seasonal method), the same cycle is also the month of Thargelion. This leaves me with some overlap, each 'month' essentially having two names, which leads me to several questions. Truth is, I'm not really sure at all yet! Wheel of the year. Tuesday, May 24, 2016. The b...
Hearth and Hedge: August 2016
http://hearthandhedge.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 12, 2016. UPG: Polymnia and Kleio. Polymnia and Kleio are two of the nine Olympic muses. Polymnia is the muse of hymns, sacred poetry, and so on, while Kleio is the muse of history. (You can read more about both of them in this post. I am still only in the very beginning of my journey to know these two goddesses, but I hope to add to this post as time goes on. Hearth and Hedge: Support
http://hearthandhedge.blogspot.com/2016/11/support.html
Sunday, November 13, 2016. Tonight I went to an interfaith meeting at the reform Jewish temple my partner's family sometimes attends. It was specifically an event for the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities in the area (the Jewish and Christian groups actually share the temple/church together), but you know, secret agent pagan? In truth I've attended a lot of events there and never felt unwelcome, and the same goes for tonight. The meeting was a support group of sorts? New Hampshire, United States.

Walk the Circle: September 2012
http://walkthecircle.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Thursday, September 20, 2012. End of the Garden Pickles. It's the time of year when we appreciate the bounty we have had and begin to glean the half grown squash and tomatoes and things. These wont get any bigger since the evenings are growing so cool, and that means pickles! 1 2 gallon glass crock (under 10 bucks from Walmart). 2 About 4lbs of small garden vegetables, washed and blossom ends removed. Place plate or plastic lid into the mouth ...

Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Saturday, January 14, 2012. For us, the winter holidays are about all of the celebrations, not just ours. Dear New Mamma, I too live in an interfaith home, and I joined with my husband when my children were 2 and 4 years old. I am invited to speak every year on an interfaith panel in our area called "the December Dilemma". Did you miss anything from your childhood that we could add for our children? I would like to go outside and see. Confessi...
Walk the Circle: February 2012
http://walkthecircle.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Thursday, February 2, 2012. Tradition calls for a badger (groundhog, whistlepig), snake. Or hedgehog to make an appearance on February 2. It all depends on where you call home. Imbolc is here and all we have to show that Spring will arrive soon is mud! Clouds rule the day, the badger may emerge as a sign winter is at its end. Walk the Circle: Born to be bad.
http://walkthecircle.blogspot.com/2013/03/born-to-be-bad.html
Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Thursday, March 7, 2013. Born to be bad. Brand new box of raisin bran flake cereal. In a 15 lb Dachshund dog. The entire box. Wow. There are also pieces of the cabinet she chewed on the floor, the latch is still latched, she just somehow got the box edge and pulled it out and removed the inner bag. March 8, 2013 at 7:33 AM. Those Dachshunds are something else, arent they? March 12, 2013 at 1:19 PM. March 18, 2013 at 9:08 PM. Posts of the past.

Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Of Mad Anne Bailey, Frontier Heroine:. Whilst traveling in the far west I had the fortune to travel a pathway defined by rock cairns. These wonders of western travel are created by travelers stacking rocks one upon another. They are a symbol to guide those who would otherwise not know the way. More of Anne's Journal at the link above. I love this woman and admire the woman of her portrayal. And I love these words:.
Walk the Circle: E- Eggs for Ostara
http://walkthecircle.blogspot.com/2013/03/e-eggs-for-ostara.html
Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Friday, March 8, 2013. E- Eggs for Ostara. I colored eggs with lots of different natural dyes last year, some worked well, some did not. This year I gave up on spinach, carrot and turmeric and made eggs colored with the things that worked best last year. This makes a beautiful dark purple blue that becomes bluer as it sits overnight. The high ph of the eggshell turns it a gorgeous shade of blue. Here is how I did it:. I love the reflection .

Changing the world around me with each delicious grassy step. Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Real pomanders started in Renascence Europe and mean "apple of amber". Hearth and Hedge
Thursday, January 12, 2017. With the hectic travel and holidays of December over, I've finally been able to sit down and spend a bit of time thinking about what direction I want to go in, in 2017. First and foremost, my health. I need to stay consistent with my meds, and I need to lose some weight (at least the bit of weight I gained last year, but more would be better). The first should hopefully help with the second. Health first, or else the other things will be much harder. Sunday, December 4, 2016.
