Day 16: All Good Things Come To An End | Hearts from Houston
https://heartsfromhouston.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/day-17-all-good-things-come-to-an-end
Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital. Day 16: All Good Things Come To An End. January 19, 2016. I was able to say my goodbyes to Lydia, Dr. Moodie’s assistant. She has been the most helpful and supportive of me as I have been accepted into the Cardiovascular medical team. I have learned from Lydia the importance of keeping a positive attitude no matter the situation. She is an inspiration to all! Roger that, Houston. This is Laura Catherine signing off. Day 15: Explo...

https://heartsfromhouston.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/day-13-the-not-so-unlucky-number
Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital. Day 12: The Not-So Unlucky Number. January 16, 2016. The medical profession is full of complex illnesses and very long words! All work and no play is no fun! So after a morning of research I went to a cool place for lunch called Ruggles Black. This farm to table restaurant was so fresh I thought the garden was in the kitchen! Each player was in touching distance of my seat! I was able to get some cool shots of the players. Middot...

Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital. Day 18: Investigative Reporting. January 21, 2016. Research. The question is- is that job for me? I have spent the past couple of weeks working on a research project for Dr. Moodie. Okay, get ready, it is a long name! I researched a condition called Familial Heterozygous Hypercholesterolemia. I know. I was shocked too! My goal today was to complete the research and write the paper. It has been an all day event! Address never made...

Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital. Day 11: The Finest Hour. January 15, 2016. Houston, I believe this is going to be our finest hour. I walked into the cold operating room that was very clean and prepped for surgery. The OR was filled with computer monitors, chords, surgical equipment, and anything a surgeon could possibly need. I felt like I was apart of the team and I was going to participate in performing the surgery. I am honored to have the privilege of follo...

Hearts from Houston | Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital
Following the heartbeats of the medical staff at Texas Children's Hospital. Day 19: Houston, We Have Touchdown! His schedule is non-stop! Upon my arrival to the Houston Medical District on my first day, I was overwhelmed by the enormous buildings. I was shocked to find out that over 100,000 people go to work in the Medical District everyday! No worries, I did not pass out. In fact, I felt energised and ready to do the next surgery myself! I know what you’re thinking now how cool! The meals were fantastic!
