Treasured Chapters: Digging My Own Cistern
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2015/04/digging-my-own-cistern.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Digging My Own Cistern. I have been receiving Kay Warren's daily video devotions about choosing Joy. In today's video, she discussed Jeremiah 2:13, which says, "'My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water'" (NIV). As a person who always likes to be in control, this is such a great verse to ponder. Plans He has for me. When Audrey gets sick, instead of worrying and ...

Treasured Chapters: March 2012
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Ice Cream and Letterboxing. It was a GORGEOUS day today. So naturally we needed to fill the afternoon with ice cream treats and letterboxing. I picked up a good friend and her two kids, and we went to a dairy farm to try their deliciously creamy ice cream. We needed some adventure after our dairy treat, so we went letterboxing. Not surprisingly, our hunt took us to a cemetery. And to a reservoir. It was a very enjoyable afternoon! Monday, March 12, 2012. After sampling the syrup,...

Treasured Chapters: Faith
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2015/04/faith.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. One of my Facebook friends started a thread about faith recently which has elicited some thought provoking - and surprisingly civil - comments from many. I found it interesting that I came to Hebrews 11 in my Bible reading today. Hebrews 11:1 - "Now FAITH is the confidence. In what we hope for and assurance. She will spend eternity with Christ. I want to live with that confidence because of my faith. And not just ridicule for a day or two but for years. But God would never ask me.

Treasured Chapters: June 2012
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. I write to hold what I find in my life in my hands. And declare it a treasure" (Lucy Calkins). It feels like I spend most days just going through the motions, checking things off of a list, but not really holding on to the moments in order to remember them and give them meaning. I suppose that is why I haven't been here. Because who wants to hear about another tedious day of school? Or a lazy afternoon? Or a trip to the mall? I love you so much! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Treasured Chapters: September 2012
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 14, 2012. It took us about 45 minutes to make it off the highway and to the entrance of the Big E. Thankfully, we scored half-price parking at a private lot off the property of the Eastern States Exposition. A little further to walk, but I'll take a walk to save five bucks. One of the main purposes of the fair is celebrate agriculture. There are sheep:. And there are cows, chicks, and ducks. There are also pigs, my favorite:. And doesn't this mama look fully and completely content?

Treasured Chapters: Castle Craig
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2012/08/castle-craig.html
Sunday, August 5, 2012. I am completely accustomed to Mark being gone during the week, but when he is gone on a weekend day, it is - psychologically anyway - much harder. So I always try to find something - anything - to do to pass the weekend away, however much of it is left once he leaves. The castle is part of Hubbard Park down in the valley, a park named after Walter Hubbard who donated Castle Craig to the town of Meriden. We enjoyed the view from the top,. Following our castle adventure, we ended ou...

Treasured Chapters: I spy...

Saturday, October 26, 2013. With a traveling husband and three out of four kids involved in numerous church activities, it's been difficult lately to keep all of my family members all in one place. So when one of our local homeschool groups offered us the opportunity to participate in a Family. Scavenger Hunt, I realized it would be best to complete it in shifts so everyone in the family had a chance to be involved. But the beauty of fall gave us a different experience this time. This week was a busy one...

Treasured Chapters: December 2011
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 1, 2011. Today is December 1. Two fun Christmas things happen on December 1: advent calendars and Buddy the Elf. Oh, and Muddy Buddies, but I guess that would make it three things. We've had a little bit of a problem getting the children out of bed every morning. This morning all I had to do was tell them there was a present for each of them under the tree, and they all hopped out of bed. No pleading. No cajoling. Or at least one of my favorite things? Treasured Chapters: Just Desserts
http://treasuredchapters.blogspot.com/2013/10/just-desserts.html
Sunday, October 13, 2013. Although it seems like a few YEARS have passed, it has only been a week since Audrey and I went sugar and gluten-free. I decided we needed a little "sugar"-free treat today. I chose a tasty fall recipe from Sugar-Free Mom. Low-Carb Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse. Here is the original recipe:. 8 oz Neufchatel cream cheese. 1 c pumpkin puree. 1 c heavy cream. 1 t pumpkin pie spice. 2-4 full droppers vanilla liquid Stevia. I followed the recipe. Sort of. Here is what I did:. And, yes, t...
