Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Thursday, April 9, 2009. I just returned from a trip to Tunisia with 4 friends from Saudi Arabia. We're all Canadians with roots in Calgary, except for one Texan, who is now an honourary Canadian, since we always responded 'Canada' when asked where we're from. Tunis - the capital city. These are my traveling friends - me, Michelle, Lynne,. Cathy and Therese. Notice the door - very typical in style and colour here.

Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. We spent a day together at Stampede Park. The barns are always a hit for the kids and everyone loves the midway (well almost everyone) but from these photos, you'll notice that one of our favourite activities was sampling the full range of fair junk food - and I didn't even post the rest (corn dogs, ice-cream, popcorn, etc). What a great time. More later on some of our other fun.

Pam Ames: Summer Fun
http://pamames.blogspot.com/2009/08/summer-fun.html
Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. This summer we had a great time in Calgary. As the family gets larger, more spread out, and more established with their own lives (jobs, school, etc) it becomes more difficult to gather everyone together. But we managed it this summer - everyone came to Calgary. I arrived first and after just a couple of days there, I flew to Kamloops to visit Dad and Deanna. We ended our time in Canada wit...

Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Monday, December 14, 2009. Oh Canada, eh! Multi cultural days at the Dhahran Women's Group draw the biggest crowds of the weekly meetings. Some friends and I had agreed to make a presentation this fall about Canada. I'm sure we boosted Tourism Canada with our presentation about our "Home and Native Land". Lynne, Cathy, Pam and Michelle. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Making the most of our way home. Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Weekend in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. With our new callings for Brian as a counselor in the Stake Presidency and me as Stake Young Women's President, we get to travel quite often to various places in the Middle East. This past weekend I combined it with a shopping day with friends to Bahrain on Wednesday and then we flew from there to Abu Dahbi early the next morning. The new mosque in Abu Dha...

Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Making the most of our way home. It's about time I updated this blog. Here are a few photos of our travels on our way home last summer. We stayed a few days in Germany with a couple we'd met last year while trekking in Nepal. We also visited some beautiful cities and World War I battle sites in Belgium and France. What is Belgium known for? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We enjoy to t...

Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. The problem - condensation! I came home to do a little research and I think you'll find this interesting. But first, I took a few photos of our windows to show the condensation effects we experience in the summer heat. The following paragraphs attempt to explain the type of heat we experience here. The human body normally cools itself by sweating, which evaporates and carries heat away from...

Favourite Quotes - A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Friday, May 29, 2009. To Market To Market, but no fat hogs! Last weekend several friends got together to explore the local market in a typical Saudi town about 45 minutes from where we live. I can share the photos with you, but not the full affect of shopping in the morning temperatures of about 45 degrees celsius (translation - 113 degrees fahrenheit)! Lynne and Michelle shopping for baskets. Pam buying a basket.
