Daydream Scenarios: THE WEIGHT OF THE SO-CALLED FREE SPIRIT
http://evancrain.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-weight-of-so-called-free-spirit.html
Saturday, October 26, 2013. THE WEIGHT OF THE SO-CALLED FREE SPIRIT. My most recently finished painting. Well, technically unfinished, but as complete as it's ever gonna be. It's my first painting driven by emotion, rather than materials, pattern or color. Being a painting based on specific feelings, it became finished when I felt those feelings begin to die. Aside from that, I feel a sense of completion when I look at this painting. Evan, I love it. October 29, 2013 at 10:08 AM. View my complete profile.

Daydream Scenarios: February 2012
http://evancrain.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. I got around to finishing a drawing I started about a month ago. I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. It appears a little random in content, but it's a fun image. Out of curiosity I played around with color, and this is what I ended up with. I will most likely find other plans for this drawing, but for tonight I thought I'd share this :). There's mathematic equations involved that explain and predict the formation of branches, veins, crystals, river networks, and more. It's a pattern found in so many living and non-living formations. Heather Clements Art: October 2014
http://heatherclementsart.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2014. I Let My Imagination Flow Freely, and This is What Happened. Lately I've made a lot of small-ish ink and watercolor pieces featuring the nude figure and aspects of nature. Of course, these pieces are all along the theme I have been involved in for the past few years. But there are a few things that make them different:. 1 They are on the small side of my art as of late. This puts less pressure on each piece, and less pressure means more freedom for creativity. While I enjoy gre...

Heather Clements Art: July 2014
http://heatherclementsart.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. Lines drawn on the skin follow the curves of form. As they rise, they begin to lift off the skin into reality. Has she caused this growth? Have her drawings sprouted to life? Whatever the reason for this coming-to-life, she seems to be enjoying it, elated by it. Part of me feels like it's egotistical to even dream of such things. But really, if I weren't trying to make a difference, (however small that may be) then why create art? Here she is, "Growth.". Learn a bit about the impor...

Friday, February 6, 2015. And at the risk of sounding too proud: it was a hit. The gallery was full the entire reception. The words "thank you! Poured out of my mouth so much the words seemed to pale in comparison to my gratitude. My gratitude was for people just showing up, for the compliments on my art, and for the recognition of all my hard work. The exhibit is up until February 19th. The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 10am-4pm, or by appointment. Now for some photos! When I realized a lot...

Thursday, March 13, 2014. Native': A Different Yet More Natural Journey to a Drawing. This piece was from a photograph of the model covered in shadows of branches. The forms of the dark and light patterns hugging the curves of her skin were beautiful and organic. The shadows reaching across her skin accentuated her form. Without further ado, here she is. Her name is "Native.". Native" chalk and charcoal, 24"x30", by Heather Clements, 2014. And here are some shots taken during the process:. We all know ga...

Heather Clements Art: November 2013
http://heatherclementsart.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Yes, a drawing again, no paper-cutting on this one. Honestly, I don't know what my future art will be. (Who does? I feel that I'm not done with paper cutting, but it may take the back seat for a while. Of course, now that I've built up a reputation as a paper-cutter, I have to go and change all that and confuse everyone. Maybe. Sigh. We'll just have to wait and see! Who am I kidding, what isn't? And that's pretty much what I did. The video is beautiful, unique, and enthralling&...
