The Everyday Adventures of Growing a Soap Business. Saturday, February 4, 2012. My first Christmas season with the soap didn't exactly go as planned. Things went a little off the rails when my olive oil didn't arrive from Italy until the week before Christmas. (I ordered it in June.) Luckily I had enough inventory to get my existing clientele through the holidays.but unfortunately it didn't give me much opportunity to scout out any new business. So it's 2012.Time to start fresh! It's so easy to drop bottles of shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, body wash etc. into our shopping carts without fully considering the environmental impact of these choices. I too am guilty! I've always considered myself fairly environmentally aware.until the day I cleaned out our bathrooms and found 12 plastic bottles in 2 bathrooms for 4 people! Bars are better than bottles!
