The Brothers Robinson

21 Jan - 26 Mar 2017. FIND OUT WHAT'S ON. Tom, Charles and William Heath Robinson were all prodigiously talented and acclaimed illustrators. This exhibition shows 60 of the brothers’ original book and magazine illustrations, many seen in public for the first time. While each artist would follow his own particular direction, often their work was to share common themes, such as fantasyland, children and the ‘far away’. Please see the following interview with Peter Higginson introducing the exhibition.

Inspired by Heath Robinson, we aim to provide “Gold Standard” learning for children, young adults, and those with specific educational or physical needs. The breadth and nature of Heath Robinson’s work, which covers a range of techniques and styles, invention of humorous gadgets, broad historical and social commentary, together with its high narrative content, make it ideal to cover multiple subjects within the National Curriculum: Art and Design, Science, History and Literacy.
