Hedgehog Philosopher: Day 1

https://hedgehogphilosopher.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-1.html

The fox knows many things; the hedgehog one big thing.' (ARCHILOCHUS). Sunday, December 12, 2010. Now if I was doing this in the proper logical order, I'd begin by testing the arguments, each one, to see if there's an error somewhere. Like a mechanic probing the different parts of the engine. Patience, dogged persistence, that's what you need. Mechanics don't give themselves airs. They know there's only one final proof. The motorcycle goes, or it doesn't go. Simple. I feel, with complete certainty, that ...

Hedgehog Philosopher: Day 3

https://hedgehogphilosopher.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-3.html

The fox knows many things; the hedgehog one big thing.' (ARCHILOCHUS). Tuesday, December 14, 2010. I'm assembling the pieces of a jig-saw puzzle. Don't assume that the order in which I write these paragraphs corresponds to some grand structure or plan. If I knew how the pieces fitted together I wouldn't be doing this. But let's start with something which will be important in what follows. Early on in Pathways Metaphysics. Something, an aspect of reality in the broadest sense, that is not mundane. That th...

Hedgehog Philosopher: Day 6

https://hedgehogphilosopher.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-6.html

The fox knows many things; the hedgehog one big thing.' (ARCHILOCHUS). Saturday, December 18, 2010. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth' (Morpheus). That about covers it. Minus the insinuation of conspiracy. No-one is doing this to us, we do it to ourselves. You believe in a world, don't you? Believe what you like, when you open your eyes the coffee will still be there.'. It takes all the resources of my imagination — all my general knowledge — to pic...In a co...

Hedgehog Philosopher: Day 11

https://hedgehogphilosopher.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-11.html

The fox knows many things; the hedgehog one big thing.' (ARCHILOCHUS). Thursday, December 23, 2010. Such a scenario might be thought of as more relevant to analytic psychology than to philosophy. Yet its philosophical importance — which transcends the biological peculiarities of the human race — is unmistakable. The reality principle. Something that is that. A harder-than-diamond hardness that our will cannot scratch or move, a blankness at the very heart of things that ( pace. What was I getting at here?

Hedgehog Philosopher: Day 8

https://hedgehogphilosopher.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-8.html

The fox knows many things; the hedgehog one big thing.' (ARCHILOCHUS). Monday, December 20, 2010. Either there is something wrong with the world, or there is something wrong with I.' — It is tempting to reduce this to, 'Either metaphysics is the knowledge of an ultimate. Reality, or metaphysics is a dialectic of illusion. Either way, you have something called 'metaphysics'. But we didn't just want metaphysics to be 'about something'. We wanted it to be about something ultimate. In other words, I don't ha...

Geoffrey Klempner - Curriculum Vitae

http://www.philosophypathways.com/vita.html

Geoffrey Klempner: Brief CV. Date of Publication 25th July 2016. An idiosyncratic inquiry into the fundamental questions of philosophy and what it means to be a philosopher outside the Academy in the 21st Century. From nonsense, comes sense, and from sense, nonsense. Words lined up like Lego bricks. The order is immaterial. Each word names a thought — red, white, blue, yellow. Yes, no, life, death. Out of these comes the accumulated culture of the human race. Ist Class BA Honours Philosophy. Pathways to ...

Hedgehog Pie

After 22 years trading in the outside catering industry I have decided to retire to a quieter, less stressful life of just concentrating on my hugely successful Chocolate Cookery School, The Chocolate Tart. Hedgehog Pie enabled me to cook for Her Majesty the Queen on more than one occasion, the rich and famous and to work alongside Benedict Cumberbatch when he was a struggling actor. It has been an amazing time. Perhaps one day when life slows down I will put pen to paper and share my stories!
