Created by Helene Aarons. Hand Painted Floor Cloths. Hand Painted Floor Cloths. Making floor cloths is a time-intensive labor of love. I turn flooring vinyl upside down (recycled when I can find it) and paint the felted back with 10-12 coats of acrylic paint and 3 coats of sealer. My designs are heavily influenced by bark cloth paintings made by Mbuti Pygmies, an indigenous people, who live in the Ituri Forest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Tribal 2 24″X28″.
