I use red earthenware clay as I am drawn to its warmth of colour and texture which it maintains even after firing. Earthenware pottery. All my work is hand-thrown on the Potter’s wheel before being decorated with coloured slips either at the wet or leather-hard stages. Earthenware Pottery - Helen Griffin Ceramics

The pottery in this range are all hand-thrown from red earthenware clay and decorated with coloured slips. They are then decorated with designs and motifs using sgrafitto; a technique of incising through the layers of slip. The pots are then glazed in a lustrous glaze which enhance the warm colours. The inspiration for this range comes from nature and the Irish countryside, with humorous and colourful designs to bring delight, they are made for every day use and are dishwasher and microwave safe.
