Beer of the Week | Next Year In

Beer of the Week. Beer of the Week. This is where I used to write about good beers (one of my great passions) every once in a while. Now that I live in Egypt, I’m not really finding beer worth writing about. Some day I will do a comprehensive wrap up of the Egyptian beer scene. Beer of the Week: Bigfoot Ale from the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Photo by Flickr user Bernt Rostad. Used under a Creative Commons lisence. 2 responses to “. Beer of the Week. Being Queer is a Choice | A Node in the Network

A Node in the Network. Monday, 16 December 2013. Being Queer is a Choice. I think a sufficient number of philosophers, academics, pop psychologists, neurobiologists, and internet pontificators have undertaken analyses of the nature of free will and choice, so that’s not really where I’m headed here. For my purposes, same-sex attraction isn’t a choice, but what people choose to do with their same-sex attraction is. We choose, exactly? Monday, 16 December 2013 - 23:15. A Node in the Network. Sunday, 12 October 2014. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,. By setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,. And in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. In the English-speaking corners of contemporary Christendom, cu...

A Node in the Network. Tuesday, 16 July 2013. Something felt off about opposing hope and sarcasm and in vilifying sarcasm as a killer of communication between diverse groups. What I began thinking about, beyond the truism of. We say something means as much as. We say, is how keen we are to have important conversations on our terms. We want the Other to present their case to us through our framework, not theirs. We want their difference refracted through our own lens. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Create a ...

Helen L. Sturgess_Artist | Helen L Sturgess - Artist
Helen L. Sturgess Artist. Drawing is central to my practice, both in its own right and in underpinning my 3D work. I am interested in exploring the boundaries between drawing and sculpture, dipping in and out of the two and three dimensional. My fascination with thought processes, especially memory, leads to attempts to make tangible some of the most fleeting or repressed-miniature worlds reflect interior landscapes. Much of what I do is an investigation of what it is to be human. There is always hope.
