Diving into the Hermanus lifestyle. March 4, 2012. 8220;Cool” clothes. That is what had me stumped! I am used to the layering required for moving from the blustering (sometimes snowy cold) into balmy central heated interiors, peeling layers as I go. Wearing just one layer or buying just one felt so alien that I often walked out of the shops with nothing. But now Winter is coming and boy did I enjoy shopping at Canal Walk this weekend! There is certainly a lack of parking and when you find a spot, you incur quite stiff parking charges, except over the weekends when voluntary guards look after the cars (please tip these guys, they are friendly and are doing it without any guarantee of getting a tip). There is a stall selling the most beautiful desserts and one where you can pick up your biskuit and cookies for the week. The spice and preserve stall is amazing! Diving into the Hermanus lifestyle. February 6, 2012. After visiting the Hermanuspietersfontein market on Saturday, we crossed the main road to visit, what my son calls, the big train. In the Superplants Garden Centre you will find the Wonderland Cafe. This play area has had a rather large and recent remodel. It is the ultimate playground for the little ones. This slideshow requires JavaScript. If you need somewhere to take the children to tire them out, this is the place! PS They also do kids parties!
