Lisa Thevarajah, my Daughter-in-Law (the one in the middle) recently completed the Bath Half Marathon. She was sponsored to raise money for the Widows Empowerment Project. She managed to raise 165, this money has already been sent to Sri Lanka where it will be used to buy two sewing machines . This would help to sustain two families by enabling them to earn a living. Lisa does it again.

Not only will you be visiting one of most beautiful Islands in the world with miles of palm fringed beeches and year round sunshine, you will also have the satisfaction of having helped a truly worthy cause. If you are retired or desire a break between school terms or work, why not give it a try. It may turn out to be an experience of a life time. We advice all volunteers to be fully aware of the security situation.

It is for this reason, this campaign works through the Lions organisations in both countries, thus ensuring that all donations are channelled directly into needy causes through the local Lions clubs who ensure that all the donations are delivered to the selected programmes. Our first step in this campaign was aiding the Church of American Ceylon Mission. The second project is the Gangodawilla Girls Home. 35,290 raised since 2003.
