Error Message - This iOS App Has Not Added Support For Apple Passbook. September 12, 2015 17:15. This isn't an error as such, what this means is the app you are using to scan the pass is using it's own 'built in' browser to visit the pass link. The problem is that this browser does not know how to handle .pkpass files in the same way as the main browsers like Chrome and Safari for example. Otherwise you can use a scanner that supports Passbook like Manatee Works Barcode Scanner. Was this article helpful?

Do you need an internet connection to use passes? September 08, 2015 12:43. You will need an internet connection to initially download the pass. Once the pass is downloaded you do not need to have an internet connection to access the pass or to use the pass. For certain aspects of passes which provide updates and lock screen notifications, connection to the internet would be needed to get the full benefits of dynamic passes.
