Late summer of 2012 Brian started his long battle with pain and hospital visits. Looking for answers and relief from the worst pain imaginable he went to the ER in Topeka, KS accompanied by worried family and friends. Doctors diagnosed him with pancreatitis with a questionable cause. Their initial assumption was alcoholism. Brian was forced to attend counseling for alcohol control when he was only an occasional drinker.
