After seeing my first floorcloth years ago at a craft fair I knew I had to make one for our home. After years of trial and error and lots of research, I'm able to offer you a high quality, hand crafted floorcloth that will last for years and years. Our love of the 18th century is reflected with the use of historic patterns and designs.

Stair Treads and Window Sill Toppers. Placemats and Table runners. Our floorcloths are constructed using a very heavyweight canvas. Multiple coats of quality primers and paints are applied followed by the pattern. After paint has cured, we then apply 5 coats of a flexible sealant to protect it for years to come. Unlike most floorcloth artists, we do not hem our floorcloths. The edges are sealed to prevent fraying and it also prevents the double edge impression that comes along with hemmed floorcloths.

Stair Treads and Window Sill Toppers. Placemats and Table runners. Floorcloths, or 'Oylcoths' as they were known, are one of the earliest forms of floor coverings. Documentation shows us floorcloths originated in England, perhaps as early as the 1400's, and were used to keep drafts at bay and also as a means of decoration. All but a few of the patterns and designs we use are authentic floor stencils found in homes in New England dating back to the 1700's. We also take custom orders!
