A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Tuesday, January 24, 2006. 3-0 in the big winter league season. Although the schedule looks to toughen up a bit as we play the "Alumni from the other school in Northfield that plays ultimate, but never had any success". Kind of a weird team name. The only real rule is you will never be able to switch from one group to the other. Well, maybe it is possible, but I have never seen it. I bring this up b/c we played a team with a couple guys who you co...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Friday, September 30, 2005. Sectionals Part II - the Minnesota years. 2002 - sectionals in Blaine. This was right in the middle of our turmoil, but we were just too talented at this tournament to lose. Madison was solid, just too young. I do not remember much besides the obscene # of Callahans we got that weekend. Eric, Winey, DK, and Seth G. Fun stuff. There you go, 10 years of sectionals, 7 out of 10 sectional championships baby! My prediction: ...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Monday, March 27, 2006. Major League Ultimate. That was the subject line on a recent e-mail that I received. This should be interesting, after reading it and realizing that I won't be making a million dollars a year anytime soon (at least playing ultimate). I read it again. I am sure most people who read this are familiar w/ Mr. Toad who used to post a couple times on rsd. The hope of this tourney is, I think, to spark interest in a Ultimate Frisb...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. What if there was a quiz on the rules to be able to play at nationals? Seriously. How well do people really know the rules? You had to score greater than 90% to play at nationals. Or the guy who called travel on me (not at nationals) for chaning speed as I was walking then running to the goalline. He said that was a violation. After he makes that crappy call, the whole play is dead. I am not claiming to be perfect. ...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Arguably the best rivalry in college ultimate will be played this Sunday for 1 spot to nationals. CUT v. Hodags in Iowa City. Only 1 bid from the Central Region. Very tough. Second, is there a better rivalry in college? So who wins this game? I do not know if Madison has a good zone, I am assuming they do with their ability to put athletes deep and on the wings. But when I look at their roster, it seems to me they wi...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Monday, October 31, 2005. So I told myself I would wait another day to let the Furious game go, but I can't. I got to work, started something, and then found myself here, back at the computer. Anyway, it appears as though I am like the only person who thought the Furious-Zero quarterfinal was a good game (ok, I am done with my bitterness). This begins a string of trading points all the way to 12s. During that span, Truesdale has a nice backhan...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Wednesday, August 31, 2005. A big part of this little blog for me is to keep track of workouts. Also, hopefully someday someone will look at this and critique them or tell me to do more. The last 4 days have been ok. SZ was at Cooler, but I was enjoying family time at home, I did manage to slip away for some runs. Sat - 4.25 miles 26:30ish. FYI slower then the new world record in the 10k, that means I would have been laped 8 times. The ipod is gre...

A kind of ultimate frisbee blog. We will see how it goes. Thursday, December 29, 2005. During the summer, there were 5 of us who came up with a plan (me, Jon, Karl, Brian Lane-last year's captain/possible coach, Terry-older brother of best woman's player). Basically that plan was 1. Recruit, 2. Learn how to Throw, 3. Play as many tourneys as possible, 4. Find a name that would stick. I think that was an excellent plan. Nothing beats indoor ultimate in Minneapolis).
