Sunday, July 31, 2011. Linwood Arboretum at first glance looked so tiny 'til you start walking around. They have a large variety of plants/shrubs that would be great for home landscaping. Many are rare woody plants that I would love to have in my yard. It was a very hot day so I couldn't check out all the plants close up. Here is a little tour of their arboretum. Monday, October 17, 2011. Carpathian bellflower and Mom. Campanula carpatica is a species of the bellflower, so named as its origin is in the Carpathian Mountains of Europe. It often is called the Carpathian harebell, the Carpathian bellflower or the Tussock bellflower.". Reminds me of Mom. Her parents came from this region in the Ukraine about 1912. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. End of season coming up. Not too much going on at home. Some summer flowers holding up and some autumn flowers starting to bloom, though. Temperatures are cooler so far this September. Last year on this date it was 78 degrees today it's 64.brrr. Obedient Plant 'Vivid' or Physostegia did well this year but my Miss Manners disappeared!
