This is the blog of our activities when we were in Alaska! Enjoy our stories and events. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. We finally saw Moose! Uncle Doug is so good to us. He came home from work and shared there was a mommy moose and her two babies just down the street. So Sarah and I - in our jammies jumped into the car and off we go. Then less than a mile up the street was our buddy Bullwinkle that has been here most of the trip. Are we sure it is Bullwinkle - no but it makes us feel great.

Bruce and I returned in the wee hours of the morning on July 5th. The kids came home a little over a week later. What a blessing to have such a wonderful family to share with. Another awesome event in Alaska is every two years the Air Force base brings in planes from all different armed forces along with the Fed Ex and they open the base to tours of the planes. One of the best trips to the zoo we have had. The kids can not decide which were the best animals - having them all really is making the decision hard. Another great day in the Great North! It is our last Tuesday in Alaska, and daddy decided to go for the big one. After another great family dinner - with even more people and more potato dumplings - Bruce took Aunt Le May's car to get the big one. He drove 100 miles one way to the Russian River. Okay the big Salmon! But the big Salmon is still here in Alaska waiting for him to come back.

This is a testimony of Josh's adventure with a brain tumor named FRED! Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Happy 14th Birthday Joshua. Amazing at it may seem - Josh is now 14. What a great birthday he is having in Alaska. He started the day with pancakes and sausage. Then Auntie Le May added sprinkles to the pancakes - yummy. There was an arcade in the mall - so we spent some time playing games and being silly. Then Grandma bought us all ice cream - yummy - the best anywhere at Baskin and Robbins. Look at that hair!

Is great with my son there. He is hating school work - but who doesn't! It is not my favorite part to correct those papers, but he is loving being an office assistant and being the big kid on campus. Well I am sitting here typing, realizing it has been a year since we were admitted to St. Charles and the Fred Adventure began in earnest. So where are we today? Josh is in basketball and played his first game last Thursday. He even scored a basket. We are at church now for a youth sleep over event. He is laughing with his friends and just a normal teenager.
