Monday, July 06, 2015. Happy 8th birthday, Caleb! This year has passed with lightning speed, as each year seems to do. You finished 2nd grade with flying colors. Your teacher said you are a model student, and you told us that you didn't even get on yellow one time the whole year! You are exceptionally smart and brave. You're extremely conscientious and aware of what's going on around you. You are friendly to others, even when it makes you nervous. I love you, Cay Cay! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Happy 9th Birthday, Gabe. Tonight I am sitting in a dark hotel room in South Dakota watching you sleep; balloons and banners taped to the walls to meet you with a "happy birthday" greeting when you wake. We are here for spring break and it's been the best time. Today we saw buffalo and antelope and sheep and hiked and climbed on rocks. How fun that you get to spend your birthday in such an exciting and new place! I love you, Gabie. Happy 9th birthday! You are a wonderful Mom!

Sunday, April 14, 2013. It's been a while and I'm behind on blogging, namely for the following reasons:. 1) Our desktop is extremely slow and running out of memory. 2) The laptop has been hijacked by an unnamed person completing the 3rd sememster of his MBA studies. 3) My phone uploads pictures sideways, and I have yet to figure out how to fix that problem. 4) I am lazy / tired. 6) I am much too busy reading other people's blogs. Sunday, July 06, 2014. Happy 7th birthday, Caleb! Tomorrow is your GOLDEN birthday! Or maybe it's your "platinum" or "diamond" birthday? After all, you were born on 7-7-07. And tomorrow you are turning 7! That seems pretty special. This weekend we celebrated in Rockford with family. You asked for a baseball themed party, and couldn't wait to play "kids vs. grown-ups" in a whiffle ball game in the front yard. Even though you weren't feeling well, you had a great time. Monday, March 25, 2013. Happy 8th Birthday, Gabie Baby! It's that time of year again; you're about to turn another year older and as in the past, I'm sitting at the computer on the night before your birthday thinking about how quickly time is passing. I read in a book recently that the days are long, but the years are short. Never was a statement more true. Tomorrow you'll be 8 years old, and, as Bapa Hogan mentioned to you on the phone, that's halfway to driving age - yikes! Sunday, March 24, 2013.

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Happy 10th Birthday, Gabie! I'm so proud to be your mom. I know you're becoming more independent, but I will never stop pulling you close, kissing your cheeks and telling you "I love you." My grandma has always said to me, "you'll always be my baby." And I feel that way about you. No matter how old you are, you'll always be my baby - my firstborn and the one who made me a mother. I love you, Gabriel. Happy 10th birthday! Monday, July 16, 2012. Happy 5th Birthday, Caleb! It's been a little over a week since you turned 5 and I still can't believe it! You are no longer a baby, no longer a toddler, no longer a preschooler.you are such a big boy and now almost a kindergartener! And then you went to summer camp at your new school. That was a little scary, too, but you again made friends and your teacher told us you are definitely ready for kindergarten! The sweetest and funniest things come out of your mouth sometimes (along w...

Sara's Blog: February 2013

Saturday, February 09, 2013. You can imagine our pride and surprise when the ball was passed to Caleb who then passed it down to Gabe for two! It was such a magical moment - maybe the other team was going easy on them, but I prefer to think these brothers have the 1-2 punch. :-). In the end, our team was crushed (something like 60 to 14), but it was good experience for the boys to play a game and they were great sports. I'm a big fan of team sports (even though they were not my strong suit!
