Monday, July 1, 2013. Days 1 and 2: Yakatut Bay and Glacier Bay. We made it onto our cruise ship! For the next week we had gorgeous views like this to look at, on both sides of the ship. We embarked on June 8 and the cruise took 7 days, from Whittier, Alaska to Vancouver, Canada. Dressed up and ready for our first dinner! I'm a big fan of pretty sunsets. The next day we had all kinds of fun activities to do on board the ship. It was technically a "Day at Sea," but we were sailing along through Yakatu...

Tuesday, November 27, 2012. I know it seems like we dropped off the face of the planet this month. But really I just haven't been able to add pictures to our blog. And what fun is a blog with no pictures? I must have pictures! In the meantime, November did happen! Some highlights that I would have blogged about:. My birthday. Yay! I'm older now. (Imagine me sitting in front of a cake, smiling.). Baby Josh can walk now! It took him 14 months and boy is he excited to get around. Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Tuesday, June 25, 2013. We finally made it! When Ben's mom picked us up at the airport (thank you! We were greeted soon after by her friend, a Native Alaskan. Ben told me we weren't going to see any igloos or Eskimos on our trip, so I jumped all over my chance to speak to a native. She humored me with a little U'pik:. Next, Ben's stepdad Ed drove us to see his daughter Rebecca. Holy Big Dog! His foot is longer than mine! Who doesn't love a super huge chocolate fountain? After dinner Cathy drove us up abo...

Monday, December 31, 2012. PS Don't Forget These. This is one of my favorite pictures. I don't think I ever posted it. So just in case you didn't get enough of us in 2012, here's a recap of things you DIDN'T see on the Nelson Family Blog this past year. Most of them are just fun, around-the-house pictures. Time to wrap things up, one per month:. January - That baby. He's so tiny. Why do my babies keep growing up? March - Our kids beg to run on the treadmill. We do have toys, I promise. Especially when it...

Thursday, September 27, 2012. As promised, Nicole is ready to teach us how to make her prize-winning tutu. Here goes! Pick out two spools of tulle (pronounced "tool") in any color combination. We found them on the bottom shelf at Walmart. If you know Nicole and I, deciding the color was the hardest part. Does this make it a "Two-Spool Tulle Tutu Tutorial"? Hold the loop with one hand and reach through it with the other hand. Grab the two ends of the tulle. Then pull them back through, toward you. Now rep...

Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Let's Go Fly a Kite! There's no better way to celebrate spring breezes than by flying kites! This was Greg's first time and he was a natural. He stood there for along time, just watching his kite with a big smile on his face. The perspective of a 3-year-old. After a very long time, Greg decided he was tired and gave Zach a turn. The clouds are really cool in this picture. I always like close-ups of Zach. Is he a good-looking kid or what? Wow, look at those clouds! They added the ...

Friday, March 30, 2012. Joshie's 6-Month Photo Shoot. I've been so excited to share these! We just got back Josh's 6-month pictures and they turned out so fun. We had the photographer come to our house again, to use some of the same settings as his newborn pictures. I can't believe how much he's grown in half a year! Here are two of the shots put together, newborn and then big boy:. They make me giggle. Some shots with Mommy:. And cozied up in his crib ( I love this one! And the grand finale:. It seems t...

Friday, January 25, 2013. Good Times at BYU. Ah, the BYU Creamery. Ben took me there on our very first date. I never say no to ice cream so that was a good move on his part. Now twelve-ish years later, we took the kids to the Creamery to kick off a fun weekend at BYU. The game was exciting. The boys ate popcorn and watched intently. The girls ate popcorn and took silly pictures. And watched the game. No really, we did. BYU won! Can you name that restaurant? We had dinner with Ben's brother on the way hom...
