Our distillation process control methodology consists of three simple pieces:. Composition control via direct manipulation of material balance. Direct closure of tower heat balance via either top or bottom level. Constraint management by external heat duty. This methodology can be implemented directly on the DCS in a stepwise fashion. The most basic form of the strategy takes less than a week to commission, and is well-suited to supporting multivariable process control and optimization systems.
