Hamilton E. Salsich II. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Today we took a short walk before breakfast, and then relaxed on the porch or down on the shady grass most of the morning. Later, we drove down to the little town of Lee, where I read in the park while Cia walked and toured a few of the shops. After lunch, we took a good float in the lake, just doing arm and leg exercises for about 25 minutes. Later in the afternoon, we saw a terrific production of. Below are a few photos from recent days .

Hamilton E. Salsich II. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Today we enjoyed a rousing performance at Tanglewood, featuring YoYo Ma as the soloist in Richard Strauss's Don Quixote. It was a perfect afternoon - cool and breezy on the lawn as we ate our seafood sandwiches (and I sipped some refreshing white wine), and cool again inside the shed for the performance. In the last few days, we have had some spectacular skies over us. Here are a few of our photos. A CLASSROOM CALLED HOPEVILLE. Just a Few Poems.

Hamilton E. Salsich II. Friday, July 31, 2015. Early morning on Laurel Lake. This afternoon we went to Naumkeag, a majestic summer "cottage" (more like castle) overlooking the hills. We took a guided tour of the house, and wandered among the gardens and lawns. Later, we donned our life vests and took our usual dip in the lake, floating and moving our arms and legs and taking pleasure in whatever we saw. A CLASSROOM CALLED HOPEVILLE. Just a Few Poems. Hamilton E. Salsich II. Friday, July 31, 2015. Yesterday we took a good walk after breakfast, up a long, gradual hill and down again. The walk took us past some spacious and graceful-looking homes (something this area is famous for), and there were even dignified benches here and there for weary wanders to rest upon. The day was a warm one, so we spent the best part of the afternoon resting beside the lake, reading, and floating in the refreshing water. Light at sunset through the screen of our porch.

Yesterday we drove a few miles from our cottage to Tanglewood, where we heard a majestic performance by the Boston Symphony Orchestra of Mozart's final three symphonies. We picnicked on the lawn before the concert, and then enjoyed excellent seats for the symphonies. Here we are at Tanglewood,. With the Berkshire Hills hidden in mist behind us. Hamilton E. Salsich II. Thursday, August 6, 2015. The William Cullen Bryant Homestead. The Rivulet Trail", which follows one of Bryant's favorite haunts as a boy, a stream that trickles its way through a majestic old-growth forest. At several places, we paused, almost in reverence, to read one of his poems, including "The Rivulet", about this very stream. Here is another poem that we read along the trail:.
