Bobo Bun: June 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 June 2014. Patching together my Summer. I saw a couple of patchy bags on Instagram recently. That got me to thinking about making my own bag. In my stash I had three odd shaped squares of barkcloth that were too small to do anything with. I loved these squares and felt sad that I didn't have more. It's always the way with vintage fabric finds. Mostly there's only enough for small makes and so you have to be even more creative about what you do with it. Well - instead it rained like you've neve...
Bobo Bun: August 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 26 August 2014. At the start of the summer I thought I'd have far more time to be blogging and instead I seem to have neglected my little old space over here somewhat. Ive been existing more in that live in the moment giddy world of Instagram. She's seduced me, but hasn't won. I really intend to get back on top of that very soon. I think a spot of autumnal sprucing up here and blog visiting are most definately in order. Now what have we been up to. Then there's a new addiction of mine. Under a b...
Bobo Bun: April 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 29 April 2014. When I stitch I really get into it. You could call it obsessive, I call it creative therapy. I made one top. I showed you that the other day. Then I made another. Then I made a smaller version of the other two. I also cut out the shapes to make two more because you know there are a lot of days in the week that need clothes to be worn. My man laughed and wondered if I was getting a bit OCD about the tops. I plan to make him one next. One morning I had crafty company. Sindy's and ol...
Bobo Bun: December 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 December 2014. Do you Mind if i knit? The Vanessa Cabban who shared her life with us in blogland and through her art was a colourful, generous, warm, funny, inspirational and hugely talented person. Today at 11am it is her funeral. A day when we will be thinking of her family and friends. We will also be remembering her in a way that I hope she will approve. I posted my idea of a tribute to Vanessa on Instagram a couple of days ago which you can find here. Penny of Planet Penny. Before I tell...
Bobo Bun: Life in all it's finery
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2015/04/life-in-all-it-finery.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. Life in all its finery. I've a whole of stuff to share with you today. Good lord how ever did I find the time to go to work? Whilst I do need to find a job very soon, for now I'm making the most of this unexpected break. I've been busy catching up with friends, following leads for work with people I know. It's who you know they say, not what you know after all. But then, wouldn't they find out you didn't know much if that was really true? Right off we go. In a week and a half we ...
Bobo Bun: May 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 May 2014. I'm really getting into this week off malarkey and now we're at the half-way post. Good things often rush by too fast. I race about most of the time, trying to fit more than I should into my days. Every now and then I make myself stop, have a think and watch. Just seeing these outside our front door, with the yellow scabia about to burst makes me really smile every day. I made sure Little Bun got the holiday nails she asked for. Then at art college, aged 16, I had to make the fabri...
Bobo Bun: November 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 November 2014. These Have Been mY days. It's certainly been a fair old while since I stopped by in blogland. A mixture of a very slow computer that drives me insane and life being busy I believe. Hopefully you haven't given up on me as I have a fair bit of catching up to don't I, so off we go. I have to confess I'm on Instagram daily where you can find me at Bobobun68. Alongside my teaching job I've been getting ever more addicted to dressmaking. I always prefer prints to plains so this was ...
Bobo Bun: October 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 6 October 2014. A Whole lot of Stitchy Time. After another long break I'm back again. My geriatric laptop refuses to work late at night, but has kindly jumped into action today. Thanks for all your lovely thoughts about Miss Millie's room. Now I promised to show you the coat I made from some beautiful barkcloth curtains didn't I. Once I had the pattern, I couldn't wait for my first day off to get cutting into the barkcloth. I couldn't find the sort of buttons that I wanted so I opted for covering...
Bobo Bun: May 2015
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 13 May 2015. I've been musing and mulling over ideas of late. Taking time to listen, think and notice what's around me. A friend recently shared the Dalai Lama's words with me and they hit me with their simplicity. When we talk, we are only repeating what we already know. But if we listen, we may learn something new.". Walking from here to there I happened upon this little mouse practising her juggling skills. I spotted the most exquisite dress in a vintage shop. Last week a friend texted me t...
Bobo Bun: September 2014
http://mrsbobobun.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, 19 September 2014. We've been trying to get on top of our house a bit more lately and jolly up the faded bits. In reality it's a battle that will never be won completely, but that's half the fun of a lived in family home. My first promise (which I failed to keep last year) was to decorate Miss Millie's room. For a whole week I painted like a demon. Sometimes the girls helped me too, but the man of the house kept away from the painting as he's just no good at it (or is that a ploy? As this part of...

Effie ……. November 9, 2016. 8230; and her tortoiseshell cat. More tales from the garden 🍂 Autumn 🍂. November 1, 2016. The last of the apples fall from the old apple tree, October bids its farewell for another year in a fanfare of orange, copper and gold. For now there are still a few brave flowers hanging on in there, and its all looking very Autumnal. I put the pumpkin out on the back wall, he seems quite happy there, doing what he does best. Im thinking …. hibernating thoughts. Posted in book of days.

On my door step … ( a monthly thing). November 12, 2016. The old chapel looms in the middle of a new housing estate, flats and houses with tiny gardens. The estate is built on the site of an old tanning factory, which would of provided jobs for a lot of the local people. Once a chapel now divided into flats. Where are all the people? I hear you ask, this was 11.30 on a Friday. the answer is that most people drive now, they drive to work or into town where they can get their food and shopping. If I sit in...

Friday, 22 January 2016. Myself and my tired old Noggin have been a plotting and a planning and am happy to say that I have a new virtual home. Feeling like this blog is a little 'Old Hat' I have oiled my cogs and moved. I do hope you will join me on the start of a new chapter of hettie brown and the stories that will be told there. HERE IS THE LITTLE LINK. Thursday, 21 January 2016. Church cats and teeny tiny mices. Http:/ hettiebrown.bigcartel.com/. Labels: *she makes sometimes*. The last 2 days I have...
