Saving the Tiger

Sunday, August 26, 2012. Back in February, I had the lovely opportunity to visit Kanchanaburi (home to the famous river Kwai) and the wonderful folks of the Elephant Conservation Network (ECN). The purpose of the trip was a knowledge exchange between FREELAND and ECN. A colleague and I were to fulfill the first part of the exchange by providing guidance on how to use camera-traps. A preliminary meeting at ECN HQ. ECN staff get involved in setting up a cameratrap. A spotted owlet watches us eat breakfast ...

Saving the Tiger: Study Tour in Huai Kha Khaeng

http://hewhowalkswithtigers.blogspot.com/2012/05/study-tour-in-huai-kha-khaeng.html

Saturday, May 5, 2012. Study Tour in Huai Kha Khaeng. Passing through Uthai Thani on the way to HKK one could see just how high the recent Thai floods reached. A crane meanders through a rice paddy near HKK. Watch out for tigers! Given that the park was baking in the height of the dry season, I was somewhat nervous that the fire could spread to other parts of the park and become uncontrollable. Management uses these fires as a means to increase grassland, favourable to ungulates (hooved animals) and ...

Saving the Tiger: May 2012

http://hewhowalkswithtigers.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 13, 2012. Return to the Forest. One of the cameras we use to capture photos of wildlife in the forest. Fresh blood from a bear stains the forest floor. Changing the settings of a camera to be placed and recording data. The camera would later capture a tiger walking by. Walking through a forest with wild elephants with a bag of peanuts? I like to live dangerously. A nest with two bird eggs along the trail. Cooking the night's dinner under a large tree. My somewhat better looking night shelter.

Saving the Tiger: March 2012

http://hewhowalkswithtigers.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Into the Forest (Part 2). No stories here, just extra photos that didn't fit in with my previous post. =). A camera trap successfully set to capture local wildlife. Myself next to a big tree. It was big! Two members of the team navigate through the diverse forest types of the DPKY Forest Complex. A black giant squirrel doing some arboreal acrobatics to chew on some fruit. Walking into a forest made misty from a recent rainstorm. A small stream meanders through the jungle. Prior ...

He Who Walks Tall | my sand box

He Who Walks Tall. Continuing Nanticoke and Lenape Tribal Communities of the Delaware Bay Area. Gift for a friend. New work, almost nailed it. One of a kind. Some of the best of my old work, goldie hawn inspired. New work, needs a more realistic approach. Didn’t nail it but worked on some new tricks. Going to have to try this again. 2011 attempt of pulp fiction. Oldest work, first serious attempt. More old movie stuff, like the composition but hate the details. Really liked this one 25 years ago or so.
