In June 1330 orders were issued to construct a gaol in Hexham making it the oldest purpose-built prison in England. The Old Gaol is right in Hexham town centre, just a few minutes’ walk from the Wentworth car park. April September: Tuesday Saturday (Plus Monday in the summer holidays). October and November and February and March: Tuesday and Saturday. Parking: Wentworth public car park is just a few minutes’ walk. Adults - 3.95. Child - 2.50. Under 5's - Free. Family Ticket (up to 5) - 12.00. Gift Aid your ticket (UK taxpayers only) to convert to a one year season ticket giving free admission for the rest of the year.
