Posts from Portland (Archives: June 2005 through May 2007). Life, as it happens to a homeschooling, clergy family in Portland. Friday, December 29, 2006. We finally have DSL, after a hiatus of three weeks! So I was able to upload some pictures. I took these right after Paul did a marvelous job getting up all of our family pictures, plus he framed some of the kids' artwork and put it up. The room just lit up. Links to this post. However, we may want for cash to pay the electric bill. Links to this post.

Remember when, if you made an airline reservation and then couldn't make it for the trip, you could sell your plane tickets to someone else? And they could use them, without bringing out the whole swat team? It was no big deal. I miss those days. It doesn't work for us to travel later, as we already have to be late. It's all very exciting! We've had severa...

I just saw this on Nissa's blog, and thought I'd just look to see what the nearest book was. Grab the nearest book. 1 Open it to page 161. 2 Find the fifth full sentence. 3 Post the text of the sentence along with these instructions. I wonder if this is an omen of some type? Contented simply to be less tired than she had been the...

Then I began wondering what foods would be in a cookbook like this. Peanut butter cereal smoothies? Spaghetti and salad. In that order? Maybe it could give housekeeping hints as well, compliments of Sam. Oh, and we can't forget Sam's clothes-iron grilled cheese sandwiches, or his tennis racket-mashed potatoes. :-). Posts from Portland (Archives: June 2005 through May 2007). Life, as it happens to a homeschooling, clergy family in Portland. Sunday, August 27, 2006. Lynette Hoppe has left our world. I thank God that her passing was quick and without a lot of prolonged pain and suffering. By all accounts she was cheerful up until the end. It was a shock for me to see the pictures they put up of Lynette, on the website Pray for Lynette. But Lynette is just an extraordinary person. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Who may be interested in coming, and perhaps people from further away (Mimi? Who'd like to come. "Upcoming" is an overstatement- it starts tomorrow! Sorry for the late notice. I hope to see some of you there!

I'm so thrilled that every day, almost, we've got yummy homegrown tomatoes! Tonight I used some in a garden stew. Plant I also have a cherokee purple. I have three ...

We've gotten lots of outside projects done at our house in these six months we've lived here (yeah, it's been that long! That isn't going to hold anything! We got to tell everyone about our new house, and we got to meet our new niece. She is adorable, of course! And browsed through the co-op. No, we didn't buy anything, but P...

At least 64,632 Iraqi civilians have been killed by combat since we started this pre-emptive war. 3,465 US soldiers have been killed in that time. Just this month, so far, 113 have been killed.
