Recently, one of my students made a gun with his hands and pretended to shoot things. He's a happy, adorable, likable kid. He is not a stellar student, but I wouldn't categorize him as a potentially harmful adolescent. I pulled him aside and asked him if he understood why his behavior was not appropriate. Tim's favorite thing in the kitchen is our 1 horsepower garbage disposal. We have a go-cart under our sink. Pull out spice/cooking rack. Pull out garbage and recycling can (that clearly needs to go out), with storage rack above. Pull out shelves so you can grab everything in the very, very back of the cupboard! Frances was in San Diego for a conference this week, so we put her to work as well. It was a dirty, dirty, dusty, dusty job. But check out our handy work! I think this qualifies as major progress.
