Thursday, February 5, 2009. With the pin 13 of CS8412 grounded, and the pin 9 of 74HC4040 bent, a veil has been lifted and the speaker is on turbo mode. It is very vivacious, sweet, transparent and accurate. All I can say the sound that I have been longing for has appeared. Friday, January 30, 2009. To get to the NOS for this TDA1541a, it is quite straight forward. Basically the SAA7220 is doing the 4x oversampling. The 74HC4040 is doing 2x OS. Refering to the schematic diagram earlier on. 1 First remove SAA7220. 2 U6 pin2 (BCK) to U6 pin 16. use jumper wire. refer picture below. 3 U6 pin3 (DATA) to U6 pin 15. 4 U6 pin1 (WS) to U6 pin 18. With this mod, it is running in 2 times. To convert fully NOS,. 1 Solder a wire between U1 pin 7 to pin 9. (74HC4040). DIY NOS TDA 1541.

Tuesday, February 3, 2009. I was tweaking the TDA 1541a after I heard the detail was lacking. I remove the electrolytic cap (about 100uF to 220uF) at the output DC blocking cap and found the bass becoming soft and dynamics is slower but. the details and accuracy is back. What I do next is to improve the power supply to the opamp. Instead of the tiny 100uF, I increase it to 1200uF with Panasonic. I am more than happier. February 8, 2009 at 9:15 AM.
