About Us | High Desert Baking

https://highdesertbaking.wordpress.com/2013/10/09/about-us

Baking and life lessons 5,312 feet above sea level. October 9, 2013. Welcome to our blog! This blog is going to be an account of our trials, errors and successes in the kitchen. We find recipes that look super delicious and we make them and then eat them. It’s a pretty good system. We’ll share how they turned out and how we tweaked the recipes or what we would do if we made them again. Hope you enjoy this peek into our kitchen and our stomachs through our blog! October | 2013 | High Desert Baking

https://highdesertbaking.wordpress.com/2013/10

Baking and life lessons 5,312 feet above sea level. October 17, 2013. The Most Fantastic Sandwich I’ve Ever Made. Guys, the title says it all. I’ve had the past two weeks off of school which has given me time to make good food for lunch. When I’m in school I usually just stuff something in my lunch box in the morning because I only allow myself like 5 minutes to make my lunch, then I end up regretting that decision at lunch when I’m starving and only have a yogurt. Bottom slice of bread. October 9, 2013.

Baking and life lessons 5,312 feet above sea level. November 9, 2013. Spicy Pie For Cold Nights. One word. Pie. Then add three more words: Mexican Hot Chocolate Pie. It’s kind of great sounding, huh? Since we’ve had a two week baking hiatus, se decided to go all out and be super decadent with what we made today. Laura had been going through Flipboard a while ago and found this. It was pretty great. We let the chocolate melt into the half-and-half and mix until the whole thing was incorporated. After ...

Understanding the world through studying my yard. Skip to primary content. October 17, 2013. The nights are cold here now. We haven’t had another freeze but we’ve been close. And yet we have some plants hanging on. I find it remarkable and more than a little inspiring. I mean, the weather isn’t exactly supportive of new growth these days. And yet new growth is happening. The green peppers are still blossoming and growing. Amazing. Here I am checking on my little baby eggplants. And tagged New Mexico.
