The core is removed from the loop so that the lanyard can be fed through the lanyard hole on many folding knives. This one has a nice silver Starlingear skull between 2 lanyard/diamond knots. Is a ferrocerium (fire steel) rod that can be removed and used to start fires in an emergency situation. Friday, August 19, 2011. Sinnet with striker and ferrocium rod inside. Pulling the tails apart you can reach inside and pull out the ferro rod to start your fire. I enjoy looking at your paracord items. Do you have instructions to go along w/them? My sons are in scouts and are looking to make some new items to sell for their Boy Scout fundraiser for Scout Camp.
