Over the past couple of weeks I have finished knitting three more Pete the Reindeers - that's Christmas gifts done for Claire, Lorraine, Lynda, Sarah and Claire L. Tuesday, 28 August 2012. Some of my knit and natter friends made this reindeer a couple of years ago and I was, as Mad Jen would say, "well jell". It's taken a couple of years for me to pluck up the courage to try this pattern and thank goodness I did 'cause he's gorgeous. This is the first of my handmade Christmas gifts and Pete will be going to live with my very good friend Claire. Sunday, 8 July 2012. All ready to go into the oven. dog biscuits for our Mabel. From a great book Doggie Biscuits - Healthy Homemade Treats - Seasoned with Affection. There's some really unusual recipes in here but, most importantly, a bit of info about the stuff your dog should and should not be eating. Had no idea that dogs cannot eat garlic or onion, which I'm sure many owners scrape off their dinner plates into the dog bowl. 4 tbsp olive oil. 1 tsp dried thyme. 1 tsp dried oregano. 5 oz rolled oats.

Saturday, 29 June 2013. Red and yellow and pink and blue. I've been to see how those tadpoles were getting on, and saw that the poppies in amongst the oil seed rape are looking better than ever. The tadpole numbers have diminished quite a lot, but that's not surprising because there's fish, ducks and the odd swan or two sharing the same water. I didn't see any little froglets out of the water yet, but these ones have only a stub of a tail left so I don't think it will be long. Saturday, 22 June 2013.

Sunday, 7 September 2014. At the beginning of the week I went to Go Ape at Buxton with my daughter. For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it's a tree top adventure where you cross from tree to tree by different methods, go down zip wires and swing into cargo nets. We've been to the one at Sherwood Forest before, so knew what to expect, although all the courses around the country are different.
