HighMountaineering.com: December 2010

http://highmountaineering.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 25, 2010. I hope that you have been enjoying this fantastic start the winter as much as I have. I'm currently on family duty and won't be in the hills again till the 2nd and so should probably catch up with the blog. The best website to get the real inside track on the more interesting ascents that I will be contributing to also is that run by Simon Richardson www.scottishwinter.com. Posted by James Edwards. Saturday, December 25, 2010. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The ski touring was...

HighMountaineering.com: November 2010

http://highmountaineering.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. New Routes and ski touring in the NW. Whilst there is less snow in the NW than in the Cairngorms (it has mostly come in on a NW -W wind) there is still snow down to the road and waist deep drifts in places. I have been out and about ski touring on my local hills where i met a very friendly shire horse who seemed very curious as to what we were doing and followed us some distance up the hill! It looks like this weather will continue till at least the weekend and probably beyond.

HighMountaineering.com: May 2011

http://highmountaineering.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Skye and the Cullin ridge. Well what can i say about the weather! It has been quite spectacular indeed with several inches of snow and at times near hurricane force winds. Not surprisingly the Cullins were quite over the weekend even though this is the Edinburgh bank holiday weekend and usually spare tent space in Glen Brittle is hard to come by. This weekend there was loads of space; some spaces were recently vacated by dint of tents being blown away! Posted by James Edwards.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Posted by James Edwards. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Skye Ridge, Munros, Rock and Sport Climbing and teaching leading. I have had the computers packed up in dust proof covers this past couple of weeks as i have been sanding and varnishing the floors in between work. A bit of a chore but worth doing in the end (I'm told). Thus blog catch up time. It's tipping it down again outside so it's quite nice to be varnishing inside! Posted by James Edwards.

Hill running and climbing in the Highlands: March 2010

Hill running and climbing in the Highlands. Hill running misadventures in the Northern Highlands. Sunday, 21 March 2010. My foot is still a bit tender after the Hobble so myself and Becky went for a walk with Owen over Carn Sleamhuin and Carn na Guaille from Dalnahaltnach. Too with a good selection of cakes. Tuesday, 16 March 2010. Haworth Hobble the recovery. Scottish Climbers: November 2013

http://scottishclimbers.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, 7 November 2013. Un-pisted Alpine: 3 Days of Steep Skiing. Tap, tap, tap. I nervously tap my ski pole on the pavement. It is 7.55am and Ally should have been here ten minutes ago. I’m sitting on the bench outside a café in the centre of Chamonix watching precious time slip by. A tentative text message brings an explosive response, he is clearly not happy that he has slept in. Would I go all the way? Would the gapping bergschrund catch my fall? Would I still be conscious to know? Fifteen minutes...

Scottish Climbers: July 2012

Monday, 30 July 2012. Hill Running. there's nae fells in Scotland! After the disappearance of the snow, and the recent rains of summer, the motivation to get out in the mountains has changed a little in the last few months. The desire to run/trott/crawl up and down the hills has caught the imagination of late! In no particular order are a few thoughts which popped into my brain yesterday while doing something which I enjoyed doing. well for a few minutes anyway! Jacket on or jacket off…. Wow, what a view!

Hill running and climbing in the Highlands: July 2009

http://frannibaggins.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Hill running and climbing in the Highlands. Hill running misadventures in the Northern Highlands. Saturday, 18 July 2009. Where has the summer gone? Arriving in the driving rain in Tomintoul, I discovered that most of the events had been cancelled but the hill race was still on. I had never run the route, but had heard all sorts of rumours of man-eating ditches and head-high heather. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). High Mountaineering Climbing Conditions. Hill running and climbing in the Highlands: November 2009

http://frannibaggins.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Hill running and climbing in the Highlands. Hill running misadventures in the Northern Highlands. Sunday, 15 November 2009. This ruined boat on the bank of Loch na Curra seemed out of place in the middle of a hillside at 350m altitude. A random picture that I took last weekend over by Abriachen. Sunday, 1 November 2009. Coming off Y Garn was a mild disaster as I got the line completely wrong. I had tried to stick to the marked paths, but would have been better off heading straight towards the forest ...
